2024 FALL SEASON

Please read (or at least scan) the league info and logistics before submitting your registration… the form is just below!

Western Slope Pickleball Leagues exists to boost player development, foster constructive competition, create measured improvement, establish important data, and lend convenience and predictability to local play. It’s our hope that the 2024 Fall Season (Mixed Doubles) will continue to serve that end and that we’ll see even more of you out on the courts!

Register to be paired up with local opponents to play verified, skill-based matches and improve your game through intentional, scheduled matches and friendly competition.

Divisions are set by level (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5) and then also divided by age if the quantity of registrations allows for two or more draw groups.

Register as a team of 2; you will maintain the same partner through the entire 6 week session. (When you sign up, your registration will be waitlisted until your partner has also registered; then you will be moved into the draw.)

The session, or season, is 6 weeks PLUS PLAYOFFS. During the first 6 weeks of the session, each team will have 5 play weeks and 1 bye week. Games will be on reserved courts on Tuesday or Wednesday nights (depending on division) in scheduled time slots. Each week, you will have 2 opponents – so for instance a 6pm game and a 7pm game. Against each opponent you will play best 2 of 3 to 11, giving you 4-6 individual games a week. Games will be reported to DUPR, leaving you with up-to-date competitive rankings in the sport’s dominant ranking agency!

(If you are out of town for a week, please register anyway and submit a request for that specific bye week. An earnest attempt will be made to accommodate all such requests.)

After week 6, the season concludes in a playoff week. The top 4 teams from each division will play in a one evening double elim bracket (6 total games) for winner, with refereed games and championship prizes.

SCHEDULE: For this session, all 3.0 and 4.0 games will be played on Tuesday evenings and all 3.5 and 4.5 games will be played on Wednesday evenings. In all divisions, games will occur in scheduled time slots between 5:30pm and 8:30pm on assigned and pre-reserved courts.

FEES: There is a cost associated with participation in Western Slope Pickleball Leagues. Registration costs $42 for the session. This breaks down to $6/week and covers court rental, processing fees, website upkeep, prize purchases, league balls, and admin costs. Payment will be securely collected upon registration.

SUBS: We do have a sub policy for the regular season games. If one member of the team needs to miss a week other than the bye week, that match is a forfeit from a “standings” perspective, but that doesn’t mean the remaining member can’t or shouldn’t play. The available team member should bring a sub (the same or lower skill level) to the match so that you and your opponents will still have a game! The sub game will not count towards season standings, so it might hurt your chances of getting to the playoffs, but you’ll still get to play, your opponents won’t be shorted a game, and, if the sub is a DUPR club member, the game will still be DUPR recorded.

Obviously, this does not apply to the playoff matches because, in those cases, a forfeit would mean defeat and thus elimination – which aside from impacting the eliminated team, would mean fewer matches for other teams in the playoffs and significantly impact the playoff bracket. Therefore, if a team is unable to participate in the playoffs, and they are (for example) currently 3rd place in league standings, we would advance the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th place teams to playoff week.

And of course, this is in addition to the bye week, which each team can request when it’s most convenient for them.

PARTNER REQUESTS: Want to play, but don’t have a partner? Send a message to wspbleagues@outlook.com, and we will try to facilitate a partnership for you among the other “needs a partner” responses.

However, please understand that we’ll do our best, but we make no guarantee that we can manufacture a teammate for you. Your best chance is to ask around at the courts! Ask friends and new acquaintances if they have any interest in the league. The more interest we can develop, the more games we will have, and the more competition we’ll be able to foster! Spreading the word as you seek a partner makes you a huge asset to the league.

Still have questions? No worries, we’ve got you covered. Feel free to send any questions to Madeleine Piper, League Administrator, with the contact form on the website.
